US Unlikely to Join Military Action Against Iran
Israeli political commentator Ori Goldberg, speaking from Tel Aviv, shared insights on the possibility of US involvement in the ongoing escalation between Israel and Iran.
“There is definitely some desire among officials—particularly those without a clear strategy or end goal—for the US to step in,” Goldberg explained. “However, since the ultimate objective remains unclear, it’s equally obvious that, at this stage, the US will refrain from direct involvement.”
Goldberg noted that many Israelis expect the hostilities to continue for the foreseeable future, as the government has yet to present a clear “off-ramp” or endgame for the conflict.
While public support for the war against Iran remains strong for now, Goldberg warned that this backing could diminish over time. “Most Israelis who think about the mid- to long-term consequences will realize that not only will the US avoid entering the conflict, but other major world powers are also reluctant to join Israel in actual combat against Iran.”
